CDM 2015 – Updated Documents
CDM Regulations
The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 came into force on 6th April 2015. Below is the list of documents that have been updated in accordance with the Regulations.
In the Health and Safety Folder
The following Guidance Notes are subject to a substantial reworking:
• Pre-Site Inspection Guidance Notes for Small Builders HS.CON.SME.04
• Sole Trader/Building Partnership Guidance Notes for Small Builders HS.CON.ST.04
The following documents have minor changes including using the new terms such as “Principal Designer” and also have updated legislative references:

In the Property Folder
Many documents in the Property folder have been updated and the updates take the form of updated references to legislation. The following sub-folders contain updated documents:

The updated versions are available now on the Simply-Docs website. Please review the “My Account” section so that you can download the new versions of the documents you have downloaded previously.
Transitional Arrangements
Since the CDM Regulations 2015 came into force on 6 April 2015, there was a transitional period that ran from 6 April 2015 to 6 October 2015. If your project started before 6 April 2015 and you had not started the construction phase and a CDM co-ordinator had not been appointed, then it would have been the responsibility of the client to hire a PD as soon as they can.
If a CDM co-ordinator had been hired for the project before 6th October 2015 then a PD must have been appointed to replace the CDM co-ordinator by the end of the transitional period; 6 October 2015. This would not have been necessary if the construction project finished before 6th October 2015.
