Getting Access During the Tenancy

Gaining access to a rental property during a tenant's occupancy requires careful consideration of legal rights, privacy concerns, and communication with the tenant.  In most cases the best way to gain access is to maintain a good co-operative relationship with the tenant with open communication. Lease agreements should be checked to establish the rights of access the landlord has and some leases also specify conditions and notice requirements for accessing the property.

These Getting Access During the Tenancy letters provide easy to use templates where a landlord needs to gain access to a residential premises.  They cover the situation where landlords need to carry out repair works, or wish to inspect the condition of the property or gain access for the purposes of letting or selling a property.
